About Me
Combining science-backed strength training with a personal approach to rehab, performance, and real life.
I grew up in Vermont, where I learned early that hard work and grit aren't optional — that is the minimum requirement. That's where I also met my wife, the person who makes everything else possible. We moved to the Nashville area in 2019 and built our home here, where we're now raising our two daughters.
Strength training found me young, and it never let go. I competed as a nationally ranked Olympic weightlifter and spent years studying the science behind why the body moves, adapts, and performs the way it does — earning my B.S. in Exercise Science along the way. I followed that with my CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and Precision Nutrition certifications, because I believe coaching without education is just guessing.
Over 10+ years of coaching, I've worked with everyone — complete beginners picking up a barbell for the first time, athletes chasing competition PRs, people recovering from injury, busy parents who just want to feel better in their bodies, and everyone in between. I spent time as a Personal Training Manager at Life Time Fitness, where I ranked among the top producers nationally — not because I was the best salesperson, but because I genuinely cared about the people I worked with and the results we got together.
Heavy Metal Strength & Performance exists because I wanted to build something that reflects what I actually believe: that the weight room belongs to everyone, that science should drive every program, and that the best gym culture looks a lot like the metal music community — loud, welcoming, and zero judgment.
Whether you've never touched a barbell or you're three weeks out from your first meet, you belong here.
